| I hate to be the downer here, but I'm pretty sure this song is about death. Traditionally, nightengales symbolize death and the "kingdom" I think is heaven, or something like heaven and "ceilings don't exist and there are no floors beneath me"...... And I don't really see it as a love song because he almost seems to regret the position that he is in. His use of the phrase "Your Majesty" strikes me as a tad sarcastic. So, what I really think it is about...well, I don't know. It could be a few things, but ultimately, I'm almost certain it relates to death, whether actual or metaphorical. Regardless, it is one of the best songs on the CD, and has the best backup vocals. The most impressive thing about STD is that their vocals, especially on this CD are never really what they seem and cannot be taken at face value. Each song can mean 10 different things to 10 different people. So, I think it's about death. and you think it's about your relationship and we're both right. I think that's pretty cool. | |
