	ahh.. me... i think all ya'll guys r right. right on eht button right... i saw the gift as love. but then it becomes unrequited at the end and he just wants to lay down and die because he knows that will be the end. deep man.... the MV was pretty strange, (no i don't think shaun was in love with this 4-5 yr old girl...) but you could tell that this girl died, her parents didn't like shaun, and shaun's still haunted by the girl's memory... a lil help here, guys?? this is my first seether song i actually linked w/ immediatly.......

	I think it is about love of course being the gift but depending on the listener or the mood it could be about life being the gift however u wana take it

	MaggiMichelle seemed to hit the meaning good. I think the reason he feels he doesn't deserve her is because of incidents (fights, lies, etc) in their releationship and maybe can't see how she actually forgives him.

	Well, I don't think this is what the song is actually about but every time I hear it it reminds me of my friend, who had (has?) a drug problem. Now I know every song isn't about drugs and it's said on nearly every song...but it's only what it means to me. I think "The Gift" is actually referring to a girl, who left him because her parents didn't like him - a girl who he really loved. "I don't belong here and I'm not well....I'm so ashamed of this lie I'm living...right on wrong side of it all" That really reminds me of my friend's drug use, and of the girl, because it sounds like he's telling her he's sorry for doing that awful shit to his body and that he's ashamed of it but it's his way of dealing with things.
