| this song is awesome, i think he's saying that he's a fake and hates who he really is inside, he tries to hide it but everyone sees through him (this mask of glass) so that he's given up and there is no need for anyone to try and save him anymore (i'll wash ashore in weeks, you can't save me now), he's too deep into hiding ("let it enfold you")...idk just some thoughts | |

| This song is about contradictions. Alot of people will change themseleves to fit in and try to acheive a better life, and the cliche is to "be yourself" In this song, he wants a "better life", but he can't achieve genuine happiness because he's "as fake as a widows smile" the mask being glass means to me about being able to still see through a fake, so the mask really serves no purpose, people will be able to see right thruogh it. The rest all fits into the metaphor, "the light now is my weapon", you can't see anything in the darkness, so he uses it to see through to other fakes, which he is, he says that "It’s kinda cute how I resent to be Everything but the instrument I am" | |
