A-fucking-men to donutman. a). This is called SONGMEANINGS.NET... not howmuchyoulovethissong.net b). no one wants to hear your teeny fucking rants about how great they are and OMG i saw them 22987398475 times they they're soooo kewl!!!! c). I agree with donut man as to what this song is about, but I take it in a slightly different view. I see it as: everyone who is in a band wants to have "fame" so to say, but "fame" nowadays is being an MTV bitch and bowing down to the masses and not doing what you want. So basically he's saying he wants fame, but not that shitty fame where you have to do everything "they" tell you, but basically, you won't get fame unless you DO do that, so it's all just a big contradiction. In the end he's saying instead of selling out, why not just kill someone, cause he'll get his fame then. I personally find that this song is a metaphor for the sad state of the music industry today.

omg. i have never seem such masturbation in my life. "omg isaw senses fail then and then and OMG they were so kewl i popped a boner and OMG OMG he looked right at me and OMG OMG OMG this song is so kewl the screaming makes me scream and the singing makes me sing and the guitar makes me guitar and OMG OMG OMG OMG i totally forgot taht this site is for hte benefit of those ppl that want to discuss the MEANING OF THE FUCKING SONG. im sorry. i was a little more harsh than i should have been, and this song is hot like a pornstar. aside from being explanatory (sorry the rest of the world isnt at your intellectual level where they can look at a song and figure out its meaning. one of these days ill get around to bowing down to you, ruler of wisdom and smartest of the smart), the song is about wanting fame, not wanting it, and the contradictory feelings. his desires reach the point where he wants to kill someone just to attain his goals. in a sense then, this is a comment on society and its values.

Go to their site and read the description of the band. "Not many musicians influenced by punk, hardcore and metal are also well versed in poetry, literature and comparative religion..... New Jersey five piece takes a more intellectual approach to sonic catharsis. Even the name Senses Fail comes from frontman Buddy Nilelsen's interest in spirituality." They have a lot of quotes taken from poetry, religions, philosophies, etc. It's their "thing." Even the name of the album is "borrowed." http://www.americanpoems.com/poets/Charles-Bukowski/7825 They try to take a more intellectual approach to this kind of music. Furthermore, he isn't comparing himself to Jim Morrison, he's saying that he wants the fame that Morrison had, and he wants to be remembered.
