| this song has great meaning to me, actually. from my point of view*caughexpierencecaugh* its a friendship gone horriably out of control. instead of always being there for each other you make each other into your personal crumbling wall. you see, theres one person who has started this whole life of self destruction and the other is always on the other end of the phone shouting advice that she neglects to hear. because the 'advice giver' has allready been down this road/still on this road and knows what to do. either way, the 'self destructor' isnt listening. just living like no one else will find out and no one else cares. this goes on for a while, untill the 'advice giver' becomes the crumbling wall. the 'self destuctor' has taken the 'advice giver' down with them. and eventually theres no more wall to hide behind. -- update-- two years later and they are no longer best friends because the 'advice giver' has been to rehad twice, and the 'self destructor' cleaned up on her own. | |

| Although the meaing of this song's received considerable attention in academic circles (and, of course, the media) over recent months, I can't help but feel that the thoughtless comparisons between the Sick Puppies and their drum-snuff contemporaries (Yelping Apple Grope, Herman's Grotty Snack Puffer) do little justice to the triumphant vocal trampolining in "Welcome To The Real World". A bold, flaming shot across the fragile bow of New Labor - Bonita Guggenheim's humpy voice does a little too much justice to the rocket surgery he so delicately performs in these lyrics. Guggenheim and his merry boff collective deserve to be hazed for this, their grittiest attempt at interpretative socialism. Perhaps most forceful is the detente..."Welcome to the real world!", where Guggenheim finally rips the listener back through the space between her little earplugs, and into the golden age of funk-lash distro haplessness that this song so infamously laid the framework for. Whilst this song will definitely be remembered, Sick Puppies' legacy will always be most firmly associated with their crowd-pleasing tribadist phase. | |

| this song reminds me of how when my dad left my boyfriend wasn't there for me. he pretended that he was and that he cared but he really didn't. "another lesson burned" reminds me of a situation that you dont learn from. one that only makes you hard and cold. | |

| This is another amazing song by Sick Puppies. Jeppo pretty much got the meaning down. This song means a lot to me, personally. | |

| I haven't heard this song yet, but I love the lyrics.. 'Where people die and pain is real No one gives a fuck about how you feel' the ending really sums it up...more positively... 'But I know your on your way And I know you'll be okay So there's no need to be afraid' | |

| This song is about a girl thats slowly destroying a guy. The guy is knows whats happening but feels powerless to stop it: "So here I am again, in the middle of the end. And the choice I wish I'd made, I always make too late." He knows what the outcome will eventually be, but doesn't want to accept it and move on, because he will be left alone again. | |

| I think this is about a guy who's basically had enough of his girlfriend, or maybe even a close friend. He feels like whoever the person in question is has already abandoned him ("here everyone I ever need, Always ends up leaving me alone) Just by their actions and decisions towards him, though they may still be considered together or best friends. So when the person in question starts suggesting things, probably thinking that the guy just isn't thinking well (I dont care what you think Im not seeing a shrink Im not doing this again) He already knows what he's doing, so he has no need to listen to what they're saying, not that he probably would, anyway. (So let's see what you got And let's see what you're not And whatever else you pretend You've defended my intentions Long enough) As if he's saying that, "What are you really, and what do you want?" Sort of an issue of trust, wondering what's been real and what hasn't. (So here I am again In the middle of the end The choice I wish I'd made I always make too late.) It's most likely him saying that he wishes that he made the decision to rid himself of the person in question a lot sooner, which could have a lot of logic behind it. I would go in depth more, but I'm running short on time. Maybe later. Anyway, awesome song! More people should hear it. | |
