	I believe the song is about the blissful naviety of childhood. 'You don't know the truth, and I love your life'--Being so innocent and not knowing about all the bad stuff in this world yet. That kids see the world in a different way--an 'altered perception' because the truth doesnt 'overshadow the lime lies' But also at the end he says 'But frozen eyes are bound to melt' which means that eventually you have to grow up and you'll see the harsh truth

	i agree with all ya points and this song has a great meaning about life, its sad, but i love it. it make me think about wasted lives...no matter what dont let people get to you, just tell em to fuck off and move on

	I fink this song is about 100's of people saying to John's - "Why are you so unhappy?" - "I would love to have your life" But 'they don't know the truth' The altered perception of what it's like to be in a rock'n'roll band. How it looks like a nonstop party from the outside but 'you don't know the truth' - Once you have been doing it for a few years it becomes almost normal for you. You also lose your freedom because you are constantly recognized and cant be a normal guy anymore. The uplifting "do do do do do do" bit at the end offers some hope that there will be an end to the 'labyrinth of sympathy' and depression. 'But frozen eyes are bound to melt' I like to think is a reference to someone coming back from lonliness and isolation and stepping back into the real world which Johns has so triumphantly done. Rock on the chair its good to have you back!

	like I've always suspected its about therapy(someone saw at chairpage) I believe its anorexia's therapy.. and depression... and all problems he's been through at the neon cd. but final part... like, see what I see.. Thrust the candle to the dark of your disease- it's a deasease, and anorexia usually comes with depression.. Burn the fishplate execute ill memories- it might be triggered by some kind of emotional trauma... (he said he didn't eat by fear of being poisoned :P) it's about letting all those bad memories go.. Labyrinth of sympathy in which I'm lost and can't leave- his fans his psychologist all the ppl who loves him.. And too much truth overshadows the lime lies-its about getting rid of anorexia's altered(to worse) perception, and maybe about reasons, the psychologist or anyone, he was told to be happy about.. And what lies beneath the clouds is an Altered perception and I'll pay for sanity But sanity don't come cheap - yea its hard to recover... he wanted to... You don't know the truth and I love your life - to all normal people... also maybe those people who wants anorexia(yea this exists) Flinch against the fire but this ain't winter And I'm all by myself the way I wanna be Where I'm content to be to be all by myself But frozen eyes are bound to melt- its a positive message about recovery...

	you know what, screw off "hippypippypunkska" first of all, your screen name is nothing but a huge label for our over oppressed society..so go drown in 1 foot of water... if you liked silverchair's older stuff..then you must like their newer stuff.. you cannot just diss the maturity of their music.. just because their style of music has changed over the years..that is what makes bands so beautiful.. so don't screw over silverchair just because you cannot appreciate their uniqueness...thank you, that is all. × i × am × silverchair's × number × one × fan ×

	regardless of the song's meanings, the song is so uplifting, particularly where it's just daniel singing "do do do do do do". the melody in there is so amazing, but yeah, the song has a darker side to it thats not apparent right away.
