You're all only looking at that one line about money. Ever thinkit might be about Hell or something? "The only way to get there's to go straight down."

Has anyone seen the video clip for this song? i think that sheds a whole lot more light on the songes meaning. In a nutshell, its about a rich man (fatboy) pig, stuck in a poor mans world, he is scared, hates it and wants to get out but cant. Peace

Whot a song. The guitar chord is awesome and the video is really cool with the wealthy pig person who needs piggy banks.

I thought this song could be taken two ways, rich people taking their live for granted, but the first time I heard the song I also thought that by the first verse its seeing if you like someone for who they are, it may not necessarily be I love you so will you come stay with me in this completely shit place to be with me 'Won't you come with me, to a place in a little town. The only way to get there's to go straight down There's no bathroom, and there is no sink The water out of the tap is very, hard to drink' But that’s what I thought when I heard the first verse so I kinda tuned out to the rest of the song, but listening to it over and over again,. The end of the song contradicts that and proves me first point about the rich people, the rich person in a poor mans world, I too agree with what a lot of you are saying about the stereotype but somebody said something clever about pig=fat...even though i was wrong the first time iheard it i wasn't completely it deffiantly wasn't about love, like i thought it could have been. i felt silly afterwards^^

This song is about a rich person who takes his life for granted. That is until he has to spend a night in a trashy hotel room he can't stand staying in but can't get out till the next day.

Modus, First of all to agree with your opinion on the meaning drifting, however if you owned any of the cds you would have acknowledged the fine print "...this technology ' corrects' notes that are sung or played out of tune and has become increasingly popular in recent years. Silverchair choose not to use this computer software on their albums as it's their personal belief that such artificial perfection deminishes music." and at that stage of '15' years of age they did not perform live to avoid media confrontation. and they did NOT SUCK LIVE!!!

I think this song is about a certain type of hypocrite. A rich man who thinks that he knows what the real world is like and that he can survive outside of his bubble. In reality, however, he does not stand a chance in the real world. Achilles could also be correct. I do however disagree with myownprisons post about the fat boy stereotype. I think the fat boy comments are not made with the assumption stated ('I was going to say that calling him a "fat boy" is a stereotype but as I think about it, I guess if you were rich, you would have more to eat. It's still a stereotype, but more like a "semi-stereotype"') however, as another word for capitalist pig. Pig = Fat. This is all my opinion, I could very well be wrong.
