This song's bass line is composed of many long, ringin'
notes which makes timing somewhat hard. You should use a fuzz
with phaser effect added and crank up the bass and lo-mid in your
amp to get the tone used in the song.

This song makes me think so much of a relationship I had. For me, its about someone whos fallen for another who is in a relationship but they have a great attraction to one another and end up sleeping together, regardless of the fact that one of them is in a relationship. On some level its like the one whos single is pleading with the other to break from their relationship, because its obviously not what they want if they have to sleep with someone else... "You had to fo someone else, you should have been by yourself, instead of here with me, secretly"... but when it doesn;t happen they're "feelin used...". On a deeper level its like they're feeling as if their trust had been abused by this person they've cared about so much in the past as a friend - the turmoil and pain in Skin's words just bring a tear to my eye, I can SO relate... Sorry bout overempathising there!

It's a gorgeous, lusty, passionate song. Also quite angry. About sleeping with someone who's already in a relationship. "You feel lusty, you're hot and confused." She wants him, but she's also angry as he's obviously doing wrong: "You wanna do someone else/so you should be by yourself."

Shit, clicked the button by mistake X_X Anyway - guy and girl are a couple, and the second guy is in love with the first, but can't be with him. Then at the end of the video, the three of them are sleeping in a motel bed and the second guy is awake, lying next to the couple. The girl gets up and starts to sneak out, and there's a moment where it seems like she knows the other guy is awake. She leaves, and her boyfriend rolls over in his sleep and puts his arm around the other guy. Yeah, that was a terrible synopsis, but it's a good video. Anyway, the thing is - all through the song, it's very hard to tell who's point of view it's coming from. Is it from the guy looking in on the couple, and wanting to be part of it? Or is it from the girl, who leaves the boys behind, together? I realise that the lyrics, written down, make it clear that it's someone on the outside of the relationship, but... I don't know. There's an ambiguity that seems to come through the song that makes it hard to be sure. Unless it's just cuz this is being written at 4am. Anyway, gorgeous, ambiguous song that sums up where my life is at right now.

i love this song.... alot. I can relate, as most of do with a great song, and just LOVE IT! I've felt like sending it to people but what would be the point? So passionate this song.... it captures pain, love, joy, desertion and betrayal in one.

I absolutely love the dark intro to this song. I've found after my various stages I have returned to the classics....of which I never truly appreciated the lyrical content and this one especially never fails to give me shivers. "I'VE BEEN BIDING MY TIME,BEEN SO SUBTLY KIND" This song to me is about a same sex relationship which on her part has been selfish as she's only after one thing - hence waiting while being SUBTLY kind. "I GOT TO THINK SO SELFISHLY, 'COS YOU'RE THE FACE INSIDE OF ME." She got this way because her friend is all she can think about. TRYING HARD TO THINK PURE, BLOODY HARD WHEN I'M RAW, YOU TALKING OUT SO SEXUALLY, 'BOUT BOYS 'N GIRLS AND YOUR FRIGGIN' DREAMS She explains her sexual frustration as her friend confides in her with her fantasies YOU HAD TO DO SOMEONE ELSE, YOU SHOULD'VE BEEN BY YOURSELF, INSTEAD OF HERE WITH ME, SECRETLY, Possibly followed it through with her.

The line "You wanna do someone else, so you should be by yourself" really seems to me like it's about people who say they want 'space' and to be by themselves, when really they just want to sleep with someone else.

I've just been watching the video for the song, and it fits into the lyrics (unlike some videos, which are pretty and little else). It's kind of like The Doom Generation; a girl and two guys driving around, going to motels and breaking into a swimming pool. All through the video, it's clear that the girl and one guy are together, and the other guy
