This song is about a post nuclear war world in which they have to stay in direct sunlight or the nuclear winter will freeze them to death, "paradise lies to the west"

Never bothered to find out what it means, but a truly great song, some may scoff at the lack of speed, but true Slayer fans can still feel the intensity in Toms snarling voice. Great opening riff, great song.
