I love this song. Then again, I love all of them I listen to, BUT, I always skip to this one when I listen to the cd. My favriote part is when it goes "Oh-my-god It's judgement day and I'm not prepared Everybody out there's running scared So - Take a little bit off the top I don't care, just make it stop!" Damn. Now it's stuck in my head. Grr.

I'm not sure... but my guess is that it's something new for them, they wanted to try something new, and slipknots always been about anti-mainstream, and anti-what people expect... P.S. i could help but notice the other place it was recorded at.... L.A. Akadime mathematique of philosiphical sound research that raise any eyebrows???

Spot on asitbegan! yeah it has got something to do about religion, but also it can emphasise on the fact of doing something to its full potential; "Fill your lungs until it makes you cough".

great song..one that hooked me to this record. i love the chorus..i dont really think it means religion though. if i remember right..all these songs pretty much are about aspects of the band. but i can agree with the whole idea of what everyone thinks.

This song is about religion obviously as you can see from the title, referring to the quote by Karl Marx. But I think they may be seeing his quote the wrong way. "Religion is the sigh of the oppressed creature, the heart of a heartless world, and the soul of soulless conditions. It is the opium of the people." This kinda tells me religion has some good, "heart of a heartless world".

Satansim is so fuckin silly. If you believe that Satan exists, then you logically must also believe that God exists. And if God is almighty, Satan will end up being defeated by God sometime. Do you really, really, think Satan cares about you?

I'd say it's sang friom the PoV of a worn-out and tired Christ. "Watch all the idiots fall on me..." "I won't give another soul to you..." It's this song's Christ saying follow your own path.

The song is a definate reference to Marx's definition of religion, "religion is the sign of the oppressed creature....It is the opium of the people...Religion is only the illusionary sun which revolves around man as long as he does not revolve around himself" I believe this song takes the perspective of God, not Jesus, and of the faithful starting to lose faith watch those idiosyncrasies! watch all the idiots fall on me! running out of ways to get outta the way! - is from the point of view of God, as well as the lyrics "I won't give another soul to you" meaning he gave his only son and we crucified him (the only religion based upon mankind killing the son of their god and based upon guilt by the way) And the faith losing faith are saying that they just want the pain/void (that christianity used to fill) to stop and they have to turn to other things to fill that void The song also touches on the fact that God gave his son to us and we crucified him so if you follow christianity be careful because "one wrong move and they will pound, my nails are deep inside my wrists..." ...anyway, that's just what I got out of it...I could be wrong

first off slipknot is my life this is an anti religious song i wont give another soul to you! i wont give another life to you! i wont give another thought to you! i wont give any more of my hope to you! the bit that confuzes me just a little is O,MY,GOD! its judgement day meaning that yess there will be a jugment day and that would mean that there would half 2 be a god

It's about religion, definitely. "This sacriment is sacrilege. It's sentimental; deity experimental. Faith in accidental!" All about how religion is false and controlling and all just ridiculous propaganda.

The song's title could have been taken from a Karl Marx quote "Religion is the sigh of the oppressed creature, the heart of a heartless world and the soul of soulless conditions. It is the opium of the people." Although, it seems that because Corey is more of a humanist and isn't religous, it's a cynical look at religon and how we huddle around blindfaith to find meaning and sometimes that gets carried over into the idiotic side of humanity and hysteria all in the name of faith.
