| This is also definitely one of my favorite songs. And I agree that most of Smash Mouth's songs are good. I don't get it, though - why are there so few comments on them, when much less popular bands have so many?? | |

| LOL! Ummmm....no. I am saying that Smash Mouth's version is an inferior COPY of the original version that The Colour Field did of this song. I know that ? and the Mysterians were the composers and first performers of this song. (Even if you know nothing more than "96 Tears," you can pick up on that fact. They are both so similar.) But if you listen to Smash Mouth's version, it is much closer to Colour Field's original version of this ARRANGEMENT of the song than it is to ? And The Mysterians' performance. And Smash Mouth's version is SOOO much more inferior to Color Field's in this respect. The originating performance by ? And The Mysterians is much thinner and the arrangement is not as close as Colour Field's and Smash Mouth's are to each other, so I was not using that as a basis for comparison. Of course, Smash Mouth makes EVERYTHING they sing pretty much suck, so.... | |

| You folks are all talking about Smash Mouth's songs being so good, but this is not a Smash Mouth song -- they merely covered it. This was originally a song by a band called The Colour Field, and their original version is WAAAAAAAAYYYYYYY better than the crap version by these hacks. | |
