| My eric is convinced that this song is about a relatively destitute boy being offered a house-boy sort of position. He rides a decrepit bike, doesnt have any nice clothes and that one of them is a jumped-up country boy (a person just come into money I think he said) I'm of the innocent experimentation camp myself with the possibility of leaving the contrived engagement behind. | |

| Handsome and sexually confused young cyclist crashes and punctures one of the wheels, leaving him stranded, until he's picked up by a strangely obliging gent who convinces him that getting married would be a mistake and a fiasco, and presumably seduces him on the smooth leather of the passenger seat. Gotta love it. | |

| This song is great. I like the Death Cab cover of since its so bouncy. But, it always gets me confused since Ben Gibbard messes up the lyrics. Whatever. You still can't really compete with the original awesome...ness. | |

| Hmmmm, I agree with the metaphors of the bicycle and the charming car, however with the "Return the Ring" lines its This Charming Man giving him advice, which only works with the theory that the protagonist is the charming man, otherwise its him giving advice to the cyclist... I just see it that way is all... The Death Cab and Braid Covers are alright, but donut compare to the original. | |

| Why pamper life's complexities when the leather runs smooth on the passenger seat? Morrissey lyrics would have inspired John Lennon had he still been here! Amazing!! | |
