| i interpret the lyrics "Light up, light up. As if you have a choice" as though he's speaking to someone who is so bright and radiant and amazing, saying something like 'even if you TRIED, if you "had a choice", you couldn't be dull.' if that's not what he meant, i don't wanna know. ;) | |

| soz but i see this song as someone being deeply in love wif another and then losin them...it is a beautiful song and i dont really see the drug connection to it. i mean parts in the song "Even if you cannot hear my voice I'll be right beside you dear " and "To think I might not see those eyes Makes it so hard not to cry And as we said our long goodbyes I nearly did" to me shows that this person is sayin goodbye to someone for the last time and how hard it is for them to let go... | |

| i think its that someone in the relationship is dying, or that both members are commiting suicide, there seems to be images ofdeath surrounding the song! a great band a single of the year maybe | |

| this song is inspiration to me. i jus saw snow patrol at the QMU in glasgow on saturday and the whole crowd belted the chorus out at the end. i can relate to the lines : "Have heart my dear We're bound to be afraid Even if it's just for a few days Makin' up for all that's less" it reminds me of a girl i liked but due to complications with other people it never happened.. and we both liked each other at different times.. it was jus crap but i always remembered that line as if we could jus run away for a wee while and realise how much we seemed right for each other.. its a bit sad i know! but thats life | |
