SoCo is amazing, especially for songs like these. How many people can write a song that includes the words, "And you're my good feeling" and actually pull it off? Also, "And destiny gets nervous" is definitely one of the best lines ever.

Are him and Kelly still together? When I went to see them he said 'This songs about someone who I really miss' I got a bit lost, it could just be because he's just on the road and misses her.. ??

love this song Passionately. i love the first few lines of this song so much. they make me think of someone... and how they're always on my mind, but i have no idea if i even cross there's. i think everyone could look at it that way. even if the person that you love-- love's you back, you always feel that you love them more. oh and did anyone know anything about the atlanta refrences? as a georgian, i'd love to know :)

What's the deal with the blue and yellow? This song means alot to me because my boyfriend used it to tell me how he feels when we first starting dating...so it really bothers me that after all this time i've spent listening to the song, i still can't figure out what the central metaphor in it means? Yellow relying on blue? Painting someone blue? ::Confused::

the piano in this song is so so beautiful...it sounds like words that are actually complimenting the song. especially the piano solo where theres a buildup back to the chorus, that part to me sounds like heartbeats getting faster and faster, just like how the song is about how someone can make you feel so good and all uplifted inside. and i think the destiny gets nervous bit is how destiny seems to be preventing them from being together, and everytime they take step fwd, destiny seems to want to hold them back... great great song...always puts me on a good mood & has a calming effect somehow...soco just rocks.

Wow so this song is one of my favorite songs. All the references to Atlanta are because he wrote this outside the Tabernacle in Atlanta about a year and a half ago. I was at that show and it just means so much more to me that I was there when he wrote one of my favorite songs ever. I wish him and Kelly the best.

"Tonight I watch the lights go out in your house Wondering how I could get so deep And you could still get sleep " these lines totally capture the feeling of getting in over your head in something and quesitoning how the other person is dealing with these same emotions. the "destiny gets nervous" line is truly poetic. he used destiny to comment on how the two are destined to be together, but the nervousness is both of them in the beginnning realizing that they should be together, realizing their destiny. Why all the references to atlanta tho??

That line "I can't hide that I've relied on you, like yellow does on blue..." is awesome. SongPrincess, what I get from it is like the 3 primary colors are red, yellow and blue, and so to make other colors you need these ones, like for example yellow and blue would mean green, 7th grade art all over. So anyway, I think it's just a reference to the colors and how they go together or "rely" on one another, but I'm sure there are other ways to take it

Just talk to him about Kel, he just lights up. It's so sweet. :sheepies: Andrew said the Yellow on blue can be many things, My friends and I said the primary thing, and How he likes Van Gogh, Well In Van Gogh's Later paintings...a lot of the Yellows were complimented with Blue..He smiled and said Anything goes. Fun stuff

okayy soco are the kings and like NOONEs commented adn this song is amazing ok heres the play by play ok hes outside this girls house wondering how he got "so deep" meaning how he has grown to love her or care abotu her so much and hes shaking because hes afraid of losing her but he doesnt want to believe it. but "ive relied on you like yellow does on blue" oh man that is one of the most amazing and creative thigns ive ever herd like hes calling himself a coward (yellow) and how he relies on courageous or in her case spontanious (blue) its so beautiful. then at the chorus hes asaying hows hes begging her and how much she means to him and how she "paints him blue" or makes him blue or in other words sad. but then hes saying in the verse that hes breaking the surface of teenage love like hes showing how powerful it can be it doesnt have to be stupid and meaningless, but he still feels so lonely and worthless and wishes a girl would call ehr his haha yea soco is amazing rock itt Tony

Obviously the song is about his girlfriend of two or so years, Kelly (as it says "For Kelly" on the CD). He's basically just telling her how much he loves her and needs her, and how much he misses her. She paints him blue because while he's away, he thinks about how much he wants to be with her- and that saddens him because he can't. The yellow-on-blue simile could have to do with primary colors. Or it could also mean, well- yellow and blue are two somewhat contrasting colors that play off one another. You wouldn't expect them to look good together, but they do. Like those really ghey (I mean...awesome) Abercromie and Old Navy shirts that are dark blue with yellow stripes. Maybe what he's saying is that they are perfect for each other, even though at first glance they seem to be incompatible.
