| The video for this is pretty awesome. I always thought it was about how trends affect teenagers because of skateboarder man Jason Lee (who played the lead guitarist in the movie Almost Famous) and how, after he died, all the kids were still skateboarding. It made me think of how trends start and then turn bitter. Even after the source of the trend grows old, the trend runs its course. It kind of reminds me of Kurt Cobain, actually. | |

| Yes. That was true. The actor playing the Joe Cole character in the video for 100% is Jason Lee. | |

| I saw sonic youth play last summer and it was wonderful. They played this number 2 in the set. I knew it was about the murder of that dude, but as for the rest of the lyrics I have no clue. | |

| This is also the first song I ever heard from Sonic Youth and it instantly blew my mind. Of course that I didn't understand anything about its lyrics, and I still haven't. But that's the way with Sonic Youth: their lyrics are rarely clear, much less straightforward. Anyway, this song seems to flirt with the idea of extremes and intense situations... From the title itself to the images of never forgeting, Moving the world, sticking a knife in a head, shooting someone in the head and beeing the world a million times. It's more the expression of a deep feeling than anything else. Which feeling? It doesn't show. And I believe it never will. | |
