HEY JONI

bass tab by chris lawrence

"Hey Joni, put it all behind you":

G-------------------------------------------------------------------
D-------------------------------------------------------------------
A--17-17-17-17-17-17-17-17-17-17-17-17-17-7-7-7-7-7-7-7-7-7-7-7-7--
E-------------------------------------------------------------------

For the harmonic part, you can drone the open E string. I'm not sure
if there is bass there..

"Tell me Joni, am I the one":

G----------------------------------------------------------------------
D--------------------12-12-12-12-12-12-12-12--------------12--14129-
A--7-7-7-7-7-7-7-7-7-------------------------7-7-7-7-7-7---------------
E----------------------------------------------------------------------

Then:

G-------------------
D---------14-------
A-------------------
E-------------------

Repeat all of the above.

Build-up:

G--------------------
D--14-14-14-14-14-14- etc w/ snare
A--------------------
E--------------------

Kick it!:

G------------------------------------------
D--12-12-15-12/---14/-------------------- play most notes
A------------------------12-12-12-12-12-12- stacatto
E------------------------------------------

Return to the verse/harmonic part. End on a fuzz E? Sure.

Wow, excellent observation. I would have never interpreted it that way. I love the guitar work in this song by the way.

A guy meets up with an old girlfriend who's been through the ringer emotionally since they broke up...he wants to get back with her but even more than that he wants her to be young and vibrant like she once was.
