| sorry for the double post, but i feel i need to clarify my last point. the feminism thing: how women's bodies, opposed to their minds or talent, are used to make money. this older agent is manipulating this young girl (with flattery, etc) to get her into a film deal, to make lots of money (from her sex appeal). the 'give us a kiss' implies, to me anyway, that this older agent may have sexually harassed the girl (or something to that effect). ok, that's all now. | |

| i adore this song. kim's voice is awesome in it.. it's from the guy's point of view, isn't it? like, he sees a girl on the street somewhere, she's got sex appeal, and he wants to make her famous. if so, i get the impression this guy's a bit of a sleaze.. maybe a feminist thing? | |

| the lyrics are pretty upfront -but the music is just beyond explanation -I love this song -how can they be so scary and pop-like at the same time? this one like all of SY's songs is far beyond contemporary music even now. The beauty of discovering a new song you like is amazing on its own right, but with this song I was just taken to some emotional states I didn't even know I could experience. Try and isolate out the guitars, each riff is a work of art. Thank you Sonic Youth for giving me beauty and hope. | |

| a chick doesn't get hard in the context of this song, when she says 'you're so soft, you make me hard' she's speaking from the perspective of the corporate guy in the black suit that is trying to recruit the girl into a movie deal or whatever. | |

| the parts where the song breaks, and you can hear the Beetjuice-esque 'la-la-la' going on in the background is so fucking creepy and awesome. Where she says "you drive me crazy, you smell so sick" that stanza is nuts.... mwa hahahahaahahahahaahah Daydream Nation is such a fucking amaaaazzzinnnngggggg CD - anyone who is a fan of rock and roll, and any type of experimentalism (anyone who likes any type of music really) must buy Daydream Nation. Then buy Sonic Nurse, they song so trippy on their newer stuff | |
