| I'm with the "do whatever you want as long as it doesn't effect me" vibe ... but I think the song's less apathetic than that. I think it's about seeing the behaviors and actions of all different kinds of people, their motives for what they do and how they live, and seeing through all of it while not being effected by it, yourself. | |

| One of Cornell's recurring themes is of independence and keeping your chin up, this definitely displays it well. I think anybody can relate to this track- "Keep it off my wave" is simple, I'm happy and I'm high and I can do no wrong, please don't try to tear me down. Favorite line is "Don't come over here And piss on my gate" because it's so weird- I imagine some guy happy and safe in a beautiful gated home- and some jackass tries to ruin his house by literally "pissing on his gate". Sort of like replying to jealousy of someone else's good fortune with a petty insult of sorts. | |

| Honestly...this song reminds me a bit of Satanism. Before you get any ideas, I'm not Satanist, and I barely have read up on it, so I'm not expert on it. But I'm pretty sure one of those Satanist attitudes is,"It makes you feel good, why not do it? Just don't bug me." Either way, it's a great wake-up song. :D | |

| I just extracted another meaning from this song.Explanation: I saw it as a leader or someone who's higher than someone else saying, whatever, I don't care, I'm higher than you, keep your shit away from me. Though I'm not religious, this one got me thinking (extra thanks to a christianity thread on here).. Why are people so upset over religious threads? Do they fear that they may be converted into one? Are their beliefs not strong enough? Stupid shit. And everybody wants to bar that christian from sharing anything but ye advocate satanism and other things. It's like saying shut up, we don't care about you, keep it out of my eyesight, "keep it off my wave, my wave, my wave, my wave!".. pretty posessive.. | |
