| This song is IMO about co-dependency. Depending on someone else to save you, whether it's a friend, family member or a lover. In the end only you can save you. From my experience, if you try to depend on someone else to "save" or fix you, you'll just end up more lonely. So I came to the realization that it's better to be alone and be lonely then to be let down by others trying to "save" you and still be lonely. I don't find the song depressing, I find it liberating. Because you eventually get to this same realization and knowing is the first step. | |
