Sublime
Doin' Time
Self titled album
I think Eric uses an upright for this one. If you want to replicate the sound, just
palm mute every note.
Method 1 Tuning: EADG
Main riff & first part of chorus
----------------------------------------------
--------0----1-0------------------------------
------1--1-3-----1----------------------------
--3--3----------------------------------------
Second part of chorus
------0-0----0--------------------------------
-----1------1---------------------------------
--3-------3-----------------------------------
----------------------------------------------
Third Part of chorus: for this part bud hits a low D,
I dont know if he is using a 5 string or if his E string
is tuned down to a D. You can play it an octave
up, but refer to method two if you are using a 4 string and want
to hit that low D.
----5-7---------------------------------------
--7-----7-4----3-4----------------------------
------------5------5--------------------------
----------------------------------------------
Also at one part Eric plays the main riff an octave up
It is right after there is just drums and vocals leading
into the chorus.
-----------7-----8-7--------------------------
---------8--8-10-----8------------------------
--10---10-------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------
Method 2 Tuning DADG
This method requires a bit of stretching for
the fretting hand but i think it sound better
with that last low D.
Main riff & first part of chorus
----------------------------------------------
--------0----1-0------------------------------
------1--1-3-----1----------------------------
--5--5----------------------------------------
Second part of chorus
------0-0----0--------------------------------
-----1------1---------------------------------
--3-------3-----------------------------------
----------------------------------------------
Thir Part of chorus: This is the part that will sound
different from Method 1's third chorus part.
----------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------
-----3-5--------------------------------------
--7------7-4-0---3-4-0------------------------
Hope you enjoy it. PLEASE RATE IT
