	"All the changes you put me through Take my money, my cigarettes" Here the singer probably refers to how the girl he is in love with made him spend his money & quit smoking "love is an ocean" means that the intensity & depth of love equals to that of an ocean " Take me to the water, drop me in the river Push me in the water, drop me in the river Washing me down, washing me down" Could possibly mean two things:: - somebody should bring him back to reality ,cause he fears that this love will only break his heart by doing something equitant of throwing water on one's face. - asks the girl to love him so much = wash him in the ocean of love Its a beautiful song for all those who have given up there habits , spent a lot of money in the name of love .Only to be deeply insecure & unsure of the partners feelings . Also personally this is one of my favorite vocal performances of all times . David Byrne has inculcated so many different vocal sounds making this version much more than its original .
