the remaining members of Mother Love Bone, after losing their lead singer (Andrew Wood i think his name was) collaberated with some members of Soundgarden and pulled Eddie Vedder out of nowhere to do backup vocals for a one-time project tribute to Wood

this was ment to be a one cd project dedicated to the death of andrew wood of malfunkshun and mother love bone. the band members are stone gossard and jeff ament of pearl jam. and chris cornell and mat cameron of soundgarden. they got the name of the song from the mother love song 'man of golden words'. but the meaning of the song is obvious they are telling andrew wood to "say hello to heave" for them.

This is just a beautiful tribute to Andrew Wood who was the lead singer for Mother Love Bone. The Other members were (Stone Gossard and Jeff Ament from Pj) and Greg Gilmore, and last Bruce Fairweather. I Just love the lyrics to this song, its sort of touching in a way.

This song is a touching tribute to a lost friend. It helped me get through some hard times a few months ago. A friend from school got hit by a drunk driver. Very sad what happened.

although not about Layne Staley of Alice in Chains, this song could almost be about him after his passing in 2002. Its a sad, yet comforting song dedicated to Andrew Wood, but can be for anyone really.

Chris Cornell is my favorite musician of all time, and this is my favorite song of all time. There is no possible way to make this song any better. It is musical perfection. Andrew Wood died of a heroin overdose in 1990 and this song (as well as the rest of the CD, but this song especially) was dedicated to his memory. As for Sicman's comment, Audioslave's "Like a Stone" was Cornell's dedication to Layne Staley :P

I can't believe no one has commented on this song. It's an amazing work of art, both lyrically and musically. Chris {Cornell} has an amazing voice, and Eddie Veder was actually a part of this project {ya know, the guy from Pearl Jam}. Why the group only lasted for one album makes one wonder, but a good assumption is the individuals that took part in this might have lost a following for leaving their first projects. Back to my original point, "Say Hello To Heaven" is on my personal favorite best ever list, and more people should listen to these words, as well as the whole album ~*Amazingly Chaotic*~
