	hitting like a tom is another way of saying someone hit you like a ton of bricks- HARD. but turning the camera on & cutting fingers i have no idea. may be just that those words sound cool. maybe someone got hurt bad & is still trying to keep a cool front. that sounds like a good enough explanation.
