| I am pretty disappointed. I mean, the music is good (notice how I did not say GREAT like I would about every one of their other songs.) But the lyrics do not touch their others. They would be impressive for another band, but seeing as how Dustin wrote songs like In Years To Come and So Strange I Remember You, this is not up to par. It seems like he unlearned everything he went to college for and is writing from a very simple position. | |

| Dude, even though it may be about the salem witch trials, and the salem witch trials alluded to the RED SCARE, there is another factor. Both the RED SCARE and the salem witch trials involved the wrongful power of religion. In this song there are a lot of referances as to how religion is viewed as some untouchable power, and of all the heinous crimes that have been comitted in the name of religion. Take it however you want it, but it still iis one of the awesomest songs. The lryics might not seem powerful to you, but the guitar is all I need to hear | |

| I always thought there was a secondary meaning beyond the obvious 1600s witch trials. The terrorist scare post-9/11? McCarthyism (when there was a "Red under every bed"? Any other suggestions? The lyrics are so powerful, and the song's just so intense and dark and ominous. fadetoflashes: Are you crazy? This song is awesome, one of the best off "Artist"...friggin perfect emocore, and i third or fourth the motion that the guitar is amazing | |

| They didnt burn anyone during the salem witch trials. And maybe the witch trials is his metaphor for something in his life where either innocent people became accused of something without fair chance or about him seeing people walk away from a problem just pretending it's non-existent. Who knows what his reasons were for righting this song but I do agree that the witch trials is just him painting an image so people can more easily understand the things he's dealing with. | |

| I duno guyz, obviously on a VERY VERY VERY surface level it is about the salem witch trials. Do you know any other thrice song that is this surface level? 20% is on the surface, but the rest is below. I dont think this song is any different. I think it is talking about the salem witch trials, but that the salem witch trials are an allusion so something else . . . Remember when the Communists were taking over the county during vietnam, I forget the term used. But everyone was being accused of being a communist, So that one dude released the film of the salem witch trials. It was the exact same thing, he was just relating it to something done in the past. I beleave this is no different, I just cant put a finger on it . . . maybe im looking to deep and it is just a surface level song. But anyhow, i think it is FRIGIN RAD!!! when the drums come in, you can't tell me you don't feeling it!! | |
