| why are ppl so opposed to the idea of thrice having christian influences... religion is a philosophy of living and thrice writes songs about life and its struggles and the two are well connected | |

| hmm... just a thought. when people talk about members of thrice being christian it obviously upsets people a lot. but why does everybody say "christian"? it's obvious that there are religious connections.. they believe in god. but christianity specifically focuses primarily on jesus being the son of god. i haven't noted any mention of jesus in thrice's lyrics thusfar. why do we have to call them christian? i'm "christian" but i don't want to be called that. because, like thrice expresses so eloquently in much of their lyrics, it's a struggle i haven't won yet. we all wave the term "christian" around so carelessly. being christian doesn't necessarily mean you are oblivious, ignorant, love church, have an easy life and no real problems. it doesn't mean you're obsessed with jesus. and it doesn't mean you believe in the trinity. i know most people think that. you can still believe in god, be "christian," but totally fucked up and lost. that's what these lyrics seem to speak of. | |

| lets put it like this, cause i've gone through things like this. He has had girls who he didn't quite play, but was so mixed up in different girls that he ended up hurting some, losing all, and being left to himself. now when he sits down and looks back, he wonders how he could have done all of that so innocently, yet so painfully. | |

| Whatever the meaning of the lyrics, I still like the song for its musical content. But that's just me. The lyrics are pretty deep stuff, so I just take whatever I get out of it and enjoy listening to it. Although I do find it hard to read the lyrics and not wonder what they had in mind when the song was created. One of the reasons why Thrice is so damn good. | |

| okay. religions sometimes make a difference in their music...::CREED::P.O.D.::, but that music sucks. now, if thrice were to be religious, at all, they still sound awesome. and if they are religious...then im totally amazed that their music sounds this great, mxpx is about the only dosage of religious music. but the bottom line is..who gives a fuck? just enjoy. and shut up. | |
