"why is truth so hard to find in this world" that's pretty much the gist of the song. Whether it's concrete religious proof, or just a purpose for life, he wants some kind of truth to rely on.

This is a great song. Very spiritual and definetly about searching for a path - studying both scholars and saints (religion) to find the answer(s) to life. I was confused about him cracking his teeth on pearls, but I believe the "pearls" are rosary. Think so?
