| i really like this song. it's kind of dreamy, which reflects the lyrics. i dunno... i get the whole insomina thing from it... "it's hard to dream" "you sleep alone". maybe the whole 'if i die before i wake...' idea. being afraid to go to sleep because life is so wonderful and if you sleep you might never wake up. and knowing it's all "only a matter of time"... | |

| I agree with you emocore. I think when he is saying 'The phone is ringing in my head again' he is talking about the call from God (or death) telling him it's time for him to go. But he's too scared to do anything. And he says that we all need to start living our lives out of the shadows and not to be afraid anymore. Some advice I need to give myself. | |

| no thats number 9. the reason it's listed as 8 is because number 4 is just an instrumental introdction to number 5 so they probably did put it in there | |

| i think computers lie means something like everyones so glued to their screen that they have no idea whats going on out in the real world, they just keep us within walls and be gullable to what we read. | |

| It says this life is a dream, that we were created for something much larger than to record the happenings around us, use computers, etc.. With more people opening their minds more, then things are beginning to change, and we begin to wake from this life. The people who think not of the mainstream way of life, but a different way, not exactly anarchy, but not exactly one of strict organization either, are the "angels". "It's hard to dream" It's difficult to believe in anything that isn't exactly mainstream, but if you try hard, then you will think alone, you won't share a mind with everyone else, and might as well do it now, because "it's only a matter of time before we fade out." "The phone is ringing in my head, I'm to scared to pick it up" The call of change is ringing, but we are frightened to break away from mainstream. The turning clock refers to the fact that time is running out for us to save ourselves. "Computers lie" Messages sent by technology are lies to brainwash us and keep us in our dreaming state. Some people may call you crazy (or paranoid) but if you're in the state of mind that they say you are in, then it's because you truly are, at least from your perspective. Something (not necessarily a supreme being) could be watching over us pushing on the movement for change. | |

| Story Of The Year did a very good job of "speaking up against the man" with "In the Wake of Determination". If you wanna stick it to the man, then you should listen to their new cd and cause an uproar. They have some truly motivational songs. | |

| I think it's about slowly down and taking your time with things. And what made him notice is was these "angels" that came from the sky to give him this message, and that he knows he should change, but he is too afraid to. | |

| Wow maybe I'm off my bean but it JUST hit me like... less than a minute ago... MAYBE it's about suicide. Anyone who's ever thought about and attempted suicide knows how it goes. At first you think about it and you wanna do it but you're too scared. Then it's like a phone rings in your head and you're scared that this time when your gonna actually do it because you know that it's not gonna get better and shit... Then when you get it and wanna cut your wrist of w/e and almost die you think "I don't wanna die I need to change". Heck, I dunno. To me the song COULD be about suicide though the other theories are much better. Read the lyrics over and see for yourself how they could be about it. -The Prynce http://www.theprynce.com | |

| Actually, eltroyo, the whole song is basically about that, and the line "computers lie, they keep us in our lives" just means that messages sent by technology are just tools to keep us opressed by men who are equal to us, yet somehow have the ability to control us through ideas of government and law; ideas of right and wrong. When in fact nothing they say is really true, they just use computers (or any form of technology) to transmit these ideas to the masses, and, since our society is ruled by "what other people think", everyone accepts these ideas because everyone else does. It's a vicious and confusing cycle that actually has no end unless someone "picks up the phone" and speaks up against "the man", I guess you could say. | |

| this is such an amazing song. its lyrics are so... real. i think it represents all the fears that everyone is faced with in their lives. Whether it be the fear of death- but worst of all, the fear of the life unlived. and i think that this song... when it says.... *Its the turning clock That happens every night And if we dont stop soon We will never wake up again* ...shows that we need to live our days every day. because the clock always strikes to night eventually- and tomorrow we may never wake up again.... | |

| I think that this song is in general about someone who is afraid. Not just of death, but of life also. and of change. and of risk. just fear, you know? "it's hard to dream if you're a ghost" meaning that the person is so afraid that they turn into a shadow of a person. and he's trying to tell the person that it's only a matter of time before we fade out, so just live your life. Hee hee. okay, I'm done. | |
