| PPS for anyone who says "thursday doesnt write love songs" or anything to that effect: i realize that most thursday songs arent about romantic relationships. geoff said that, yes, he doesnt like to write about love because its really cliche and there is nothing new to say about it, but this song he said is "partly a break up song," so if you want to strike down my take on the song, feel free...but not because its about a relationship. | |

| For me this song is about the repression that some parts of the society we have, like workers, poor students and minorities in general, and is abput the every day fight that we have to deal with to survive and live in the way we deserve it, the best song in the album, after For The Workforce, Drowning. | |

| the video discussion thing is hidden.. it's on the toolbar thingy to the right of the "MERCH" button. it looks like gibberish at first but hold your mouse and it'll change into "SONG". I haven't watched the video discussion for this one yet, but considering the lyrics, i really really don't think this is for or against abortion. it seems as if he's just dealing with an abortion that he & his girlfriend may have had to go through "this is our war. " ^^^ their war.. they're conflicted about the abortion even though abortion is OK. "administer the pill before the cell divides" ^^^seems obvious unless its a metaphor. lol (keep marching--keep fighting) and we'll both go down like toy soldiers. threats and picket lines are forming around our beds ^^^ threats and picket lines.. have you ever seen an anti-abortion protest? theyre really disturbing and annoying! but anywho, maybe thats what he feels will be around their bed because he feels guilty. and the landmines in our chests will all go off in time. ^^^ they'll feel bad about it for a while. if we trip each other into this, do you think we'll find a way out? we've synthesized a compound to treat this conscience, it's: one part loss, ^^^ loss of baby? one part no sleep, ^^^ guilt? one part the gun shot we heard, one part the screams mistaken for laughter, one part everything after, one part love, one part stepping out of the driving rain, one part parting ways, in the cold apartment. don't look back, ^^^ i dunno? they say, after time, all this will heal, we will rebuild and these broken arms will mend themselves in our embrace. ^^^ their decision to do this will heal in time... - - - - sounds kinda accurate...!! | |
