clearly about how gender roles destroy the true person in us all. Like how men are supposed to be emotionless, sex loving maniacs, who could never truly love someone (They stole the love from our lives and put the sex on the radio) and how constricting these genders roles are (is this how it feels when you don't even fit into your own skin and it's getting tighter everyday and i'm getting smaller. ) So, basically the idea is that gender roles break down the real person

I think it's talking about how the media stripped the youth of it's innocents. Other than that, I think it talks about youth traumas and insecurities that alot of teenagers face, like not feeling like you belong/feeling like you don't fit in anywhere. Also it gives brief indications about violent and sexual content in modern day media.

I always thought that this song was about how the press and the news will steal everything from someone. I thought it was about how nosey the reporters are and how they'll stop at nothing to hack into someone's private life. I thought that the general message was "Nothing is sacred" I quote "they stole the love from our lives and put the sex on the radio. " Sex is supposed to be a sacred thing but the press is exploiting it. I thought that was what the song was about but I was wrong. I saw his interview on Thursday's site and it was completely different.

i think the media has fucked up people's veiws of sex. everyone is so numb. no one has feelings anymore. sex used to be about love, waiting for one person. now it's about a 20 minute feeling. i'm not saying i'm not guilty of lust, but i don't wake up every morning thinking about how i'm gonna get leid unlike a lot of people my age.

I really like DouglyUckling's interpretation. This is probably one of my favorite Thursday songs, and while I started listening to them because of the amazing sound, now I listen to it for the meaning. I try to really listen to what Geoff is saying. Everything the man says in genious, and we should all pay more attention to the actualy meaningful stuff than to what the media throws at us.
