no dumbass I wasn't talking about a movie....READ THIS: "It's just a story I heard long ago; it's just a really cool, eerie lake, and some stuff I heard and some stuff I just make up. I tend to do that," Lewis explains about the watering hole where his family used to hang out and barbecue. "They dammed up this big river up there, and it's got all these spooky names like Hell's Gate. It's really cool." Okay, no real vampire, but is there a real stalker in Tyler, Texas? "Yeah, I was down there for Thanksgiving, and after the family got through talking about who died and who's got cancer and all those things that families talk about, they started talking about this guy who was peeping in windows and started breaking into people's houses," Lewis recalls. HA!!!!! YOU IDIOTS I GOT THIS STRAIGHT FROM AN INTERVIEW AFTER THE ALBUM WAS RELEASED IN 1995.

LOL Yeah, it's pretty stupid to try and compare this with "Cabin by the Lake". Vapirism all the way.

This song is about vampires. When he sings Do you wanna die, he is asking for the mortals desision to become a vamp. This is like Interview with the Vampire. He also speaks of the dark gift(secret), and about eternal life.

I always thought it was about like a demon or an angel in disguise as a human. But a vampire sounds good.

i thought it was about vampires too! although i never thought anyone else did. ya, vampires makes sense, cuz they don't ever die, well they're like "living dead". But rape makes a lot of sense too.

yea, he is right. the song is based on a true story. there was a killer or something in the possum kingdom (near Dallas, TX) area that was raping and killing girls. i don't know the specifics, but i know that's basically what it's about.
