nah, it's not about DMT... DMT trips are too short lived for one to end up in a psych ward... besides the intro Lost Keys (Blame Hofmann)... is an obvious referance to Albert Hofmann, the guy who first synthesized LSD... it's about an acid trip gone wrong... it's smart ass, tongue in cheek (as is Maynard's preference for humor) less serious subject matter... i love it

I just want to say right now, he didn't actually shit the bed... shit the bed is a phrase that means to fail, or basically fuck up. Like being revealed the details of our ending, but forgetting to write them down. Or, youd could, as always, take it both ways.

Tool's stance on the chemical known as DMT is well known. Sounds like a description of a DMT trip. vivid hallications, heart racing, coming down, etc..

Continuation of Lost Keys, its his answer to the doctor: "Picture this if you will" how he was captured by aliens or a mighty power that told him to tell everyone the world was going to end. In the beginning its a tedious song by my favorite part develops and in minute 8 of the song, Maynard reaches a great pinnacle of the song with his voice: Overwhelmed as one would be, placed in my position. Such a heavy burden now to be, the one. Born to bear and write you all the details of our ending. To write it down for all the world to see. But I forgot my pen. Shit the bed again... typical. Great finale

"Rosetta Stoned" is saying that no one can decypher what he is trying to say. The title came from 2 things: First off, the patient here is stoned, and thus braindead and cannot communicate. The Rosetta Stone is a rock in a british museum that has writing on it in 3 different scripts. It was used as a primary tool in decyphering hyroglyphics. So basically, the title means that this patient feels like he's a tool in uncovering the mysteries that happened on that fateful night.

I talked to my friend that has done LSD and DMT, and he says it sounds more like LSD. I didn't even tell him about the Hoffman thing until he said LSD. and TREXOR, someone has it in Luxemburg, it's real.

this is kinda a, please excuse my language^^ :FUCK YOU song to all the hardcore tool fans that always try to find some really deep message in their songs. but the music is still unbelievable, even if the lyrics dont make any sense ps: the lyrics are wrong, every post to the new tool album is only written down from a fan, there are no official lyrics to the album, because its not released yet

Dude, they aren't running out of ideas. You can't expect this to a rehash of the highly enlightened stuff that was 'Lateralus'. Look at 'Aenema'. Just 'cuz the lyrics aren't completely mind-boggling, that doesn't make them any more amazing. Tool is far from losing their edge, though this album is a little laid-back. Songs like this prove Tool still knows what they're doing, and that they are one of the most amazing bands of the last decade.

Ya it is a song, Maynard does sing. It's one hell of a song. When I heard this song I was Rosetta Stoned you might say, and the part about how he needs to tell the world all this important stuff but he forgot his pen and shit in the bed again. I think he's describing the "revelations" a person has when they're high, and this person ODed and is in the hospital and he's getting these revelations but he cant tell anyone cuz hes brain-dead, and "forgot his pen" and on top of that he shit the bed again.....figures

Wachen Sie Auf (wake up, in german) Wachen Sie Auf Wachen Sie Auf Wachen Sie Auf ????? This isn't in the song. It's just repeating in a distorted voice the line before: "holy fucking shit" I know, i know there are no official lyrics yet... locked in a place where no one goes
