ooh ooh my turn for a touching comment at the beginning!my friend named her horse after this song.i think it's about this guy who is looking at this chick he really likes after she's coming home from a long trip and seeing how much she's changed and he loves her even more but he's afraid that now she'll think he's too plain and boring

In my eyes, this song gets a really strong handle on the truest form of love--because in the end, the purest love focuses on what makes the people you love happiest. I see Drops of Jupiter telling the story of two people, two good friends, who meant a lot to each other, and shared a special bond. Soulmates, in the non-commercialized sense of the term. Then, all of sudden, for reasons that seem almost inexplicable, the girl leaves the relationship and her best friend. She goes to explore the world without him, all these things that seem spectacular (spectacular in universal proportions...comparable to the sun or the milky way) because he can only watch from the outside, only look in on what she experiences. He questions how she can possibly just drop all the things that made their relationship so wonderful, wonders whether it really ever meant anything to her, if it still means anything to her now, if she misses him. But at the same time, he speaks these questions with the sentiment that he approves of whatever she chooses to do, because he loves her and anything that makes her happy makes him happy.

This song means very different than wht others can think abt it..this song reminds of the girl who is like very hurt in lifeand shez got this guy goin crazy over her,and when he tells her abt how much he loves her she refuses and then he is celebrating his sadness thru this song,he remembers abt how he first saw her met her!!the last few para's tell abt the time he saw her after long long long vacation, say like after 5-6 yrs.he is asking her abt how she is?has she achived wht she wanted,is she successful in life?howz is her future looking?where all has she been to likein places,london,paris....he compares this to venus,sun...!! all i can say is...i find alot of sadness celebration in it...kinda love hate relationship.... it reminds more of myself...and it swept me off my feet and incomprehensive force stopped me from turning off the radio!!!!i'd give it....100 outta 50....

i think this song means a lot of different things. it totally understand what all you guys have said, and i agree. but, i think it can mean other things. it doesn't really have to be a girl he loves. it could be anyone who he cared about. a best friend, a close relative. this song means a lot to me because right before my brother and cousins left (for college) they played/sang this. it was really sweet, but it didn't mean what it sometimes does. it meant how much they would miss us, and how they just had to go out of state and find themselves as individuals. oh, and you're all right. this song rocks!
