U2 - Love is Blindness Bass Tab.

This is real easy, although it has some effects on it, of which I'm not
really clear.

E--6--4--2--0--6--4--6--
The only time the song variates from this is right around the time that Bono
sings "...Baby a dangerous idea/ That almost makes sense.."
At that point it changes, once, to this:

E--8--6--4--6--
Then back to normal.
Additions, suggestions wanted

Many, many people have said this song is about the IRA bombings of Northern Ireland. Even knowing that the vast majority of U2 lyrics convey quite different meanings than they would appear at first glance, I can't see that in this song. To me, this song has always been pretty straightforward, or as much as U2 can be at least. Like many of their songs including "Electrical Storm", Bono's feelings regarding a particular region (Northern Ireland in this case) plays a large role in the overall feel of this song but I don't necessarily think that because of that the song is actually ABOUT the troubles of Northern Ireland. "Love is Blind" is quite a popular saying and Bono doesn't seem to be straying too far from that quote in the lyrics of the song. I feel he's trying to convey in this song the message that falling in love is a scary process. One cannot fall in love without falling blindly. Regardless of whether he speaks of love between people or love of anything else, the fact remains that when love is involved, we never have any warning of what's to come. Love is blind. Love is unpredictable. It's uncontrollable. When you fall in love, you put your heart in danger of getting broken. I feel he's writing about the literal quote. Love is a dangerous thing because no one can figure it out. It may be the only thing that humans stumble into entirely blind to how much damage can be done if it goes sour.

I agreed with The last two statements. (nice user name keyser!) The song has has very negative allusions in it. Love is painted as the result of passion devoid of logic. Death and violent imagery are featured throughout the lyrics. To say that this is a 'straight forward' love song does not make sense to me.

The song is about the disillusionment which allows one to become a suicide bomber.

look at the lyrics, it has to be about one of the IRA bomb attacks. and i know U2 feel very strongly on the northern ireland issue, being from ireland and all. i havnt visited that site "soulboy" suggested but ill assume they say the same thing. it has been said that at the start ofthe song u can hear the ticking of a bomb out of time with the beat of the song. i really wish there was no trouble in northern ireland, its one of the most violent places on earth and its so sad.

Great song but its not about the Omagh bombing. That took place in 1998 and the song was written before then - sometime around 1991.
