| no, its not about that...its about marketing and commercialism and shit and how fake and stupid it all is...which includes pop culture which is what bono was being ironic about during zooropa and pop... if you dont think so, just look at the credits for the song in the booklet at the last line | |

| this is such an awesome song...its almost like hypnotizing and you feel like your in a daze..i love how it keeps building till "Don't worry baby - it'll be alright You've got the right shoes To get you through the night It's cold outside, but brightly lit Skip the subway - let's go to the overground Get your head out of the mud baby Put flowers in the mud baby Overground" that part just is so awesome... the whole end part gives me chills.. it kinda makes me wanna cry but i dont really know why.. i feel like this song knows more about life than i ever will (its like that with most U2 songs though LOL) it sounds happy but yet sad... "She's gonna dream up the world she wants to live in She's gonna dream out loud She's gonna dream out loud " | |

| i love this song, but it's easily the strangest one i own. yeah, thnx StolenBriefcase, had no idea that was wat it was about! but it makes sense to me now. the beginning is highlighting our empty commercial culture, then the next part is talking about how lost this world makes him feel. the last part is optimistic, i think, talking about how everything will be okay, and saying there still is beauty in the world. UNCERTAINTY CAN BE A GUIDING LIGHT (i love that line so much) | |

| It sounds like Bono is saying that as a European they have no compass, maps, religion - no direction. Perhaps he's speaking en masse about the problems he (being European) has with Europe. Lacking in racial diversity he sees the blue seal of the European Union as the internationally recognised view of a racially white Europe - "a bluer kind of white". | |

| is this "zooropa" about europe or am i wrong? seems like they travelled a lot to europe and it caused U2 to mix the sounds and turn their music into something really exotic, yet so urban and hypinotic... i love this song and this album! | |

| No problem. Also, And I have no compass And I have no map And I have no reasons No reasons to get back And I have no religion And I don't know what's what And I don't know the limit The limit of what we've got Some of my favorite lyrics from U2. Bono's not saying he's atheist by "I have no religion", but he doesn't believe in organized religion very much (still extremely spiritual, though). Just a way of expressing spiritual freedom profoundly. | |
