| This song has great feeling in it.... Best U2 song ever. I can totally just see him singin this to some lost girl... he uses great metaphorical language, and yes, I can see this relating to Heaven... but I doubt that it is that deep... maybe he just wants us to "walk on" during our trials.... | |

| This song came exactly when I needed it. Im sure you guys have felt the same with a U2 song. It comes when you are going through certain situation and the lyrics and music are close to what you are feeling in your personal life. I also agree that the best part is when it says "and I know it aches and your heart it breaks, and you can only take so much..walk on". After my parents separation, I had to move to another city and suddenly my life changed completely, but as it was painful, it was necessary because the situation at home was really bad, so this song really encouraged me to go on with my life and face all those changes. 3 years after, I still cry when I hear this song. | |

| OMG! The first time I ever heard this song, I cried. I know it's really about that Burmese person under house arrest, but my little interpretation made the song so dear to my heart. My interpretation is just going through the agony and pain of things in life, then just learning ot just go on with it. The best set of lyrics on this song are "And I know it aches/And your heart it breaks/and you can only take so much"...how can that NOT make you feel something?! And Edge's little riff at the end sounds so hopeful and reassuring that things will get better. | |

| this song may have been inspired by Pink Floyd's eclipse, but the fact remains that this song is better- ps everyone needs to stop whining about 9/11 | |

| you bring up a good point etsp86, but the point is Pink Floyd is still cooler than U2, though U2 is definetly up there. it was probably inspired by it though. besides, look at the date when i wrote it, i didnt like U2 too much back then during my Floyd fluffing days | |

| this definitely reminds me of 9/11 because of the coverage video they made, it was so sad but it helped. besides that, it is just a powerful song. | |
