Vertical Horizon Everything You Want Bass Tab

Everything You Want Tabs:

  1. You're a God
  2. Everything You Want »
Title: Everything You Want
Artist: Vertical Horizon
Album: Everything You Want

This is a correction to a previous post of the tab for Everything
You Want. The verse didn't sounds quite right to me, so below is
what I play It still may not be perfect. The old tab called for
drop D tuning - this one is with normal tuning.
The timing is kind of tricky, so listen to the song to figure it
out. He mixes up 2 versions of the verse and improvises a little,
so just play whatever moves you.
Feel free to email me with any comments or corrections.
The first two measures have no bass.
Lyrics and bass start together.
VERSE 1:
G ---------------------------------------------------------------
D ---------------------------------------------------------------
A ----------------------4--------4-------------------------------
E --7\4--2h4-6--6--4-4h6-6-7--4h6-6-4-4-6-6-4-6-6-7--------------
VERSE 2:
G ---------------------------------------------------------------
D ---------------------------------------------------------------
A ----------------------4----------------------------------------
E --7\4--2h4-6--6--4-4h6-6-7--7\4--2h4-6--6-4-6-6-7--------------
and the chorus becomes
CORUS:
G -------------|-------------|-------------|-------------|
D -------------|-------------|-------------|-------------|
A -------6--4--|-------6--4--|-------6--4--|-------4--2--|
E -4--2--------|-4--2--------|-4--2--------|-4--2--------|

is definitely a love song ... ... "i am everything you want / i am everything you need / i am everything inside of you / that you wish you could be / i say all the right things / at exactly the right times / but i mean nothing to you / and i don't know why" I mean, that last chorus really says it all. it's horrible when you realize how perfect you are for someone - when you KNOW how right the two of you are together - but that person just doesn't feel anything for you. it SUCKS.

Haven't we all been in this situation at least once before? This song is such a great song for those whom suffer from unrequited love. The song involves three people. Person A is in love with Person B. Now, Person B is in love with Person C. Person A wants Person B to forget about Person C because Person C is never around. Person A is always around Person B and wants Person B to give them a try at love. We've all been somewhere in this little confusing triangle. Just lately, I broke out of the Person B mode and gave the Person A a chance :) yay me...but anyways, when I hear this song, my heart goes out to all the Person A's out there...

i agree with liveurlife. it's like he's tired of his friend whom he loves telling him about all these guys that are just not right for her. and there he is, all that she needs and wants, standing in front of her and she doesn't notice...she doesn't even realize it and he doesnt understand why.

No, this song isn't about God. I said it somewhere before, but any heartfelt song can be misinterpreted about God if you simply replace the "she" and "hers" and other feminine pronouns with "God" and "His" and "Your," et cetera. Both basically the same thing. And the law applies in reverse. Songs with God that can be changed to be about women. .. anywho. Yeah, I'd have to agree with liveurlife as well. This person is everything she wants, everything she needs, but it means nothing to her, and she doesn't know why. And it's strange, because she sees him, and she know how he feels, if only.. vaguely.. .. and the mention to the angels. A reference to HER love. The one she cannot have. The one she's constantly focusing on while ignoring the one that would obviously work.

like chosen1forlife sed, the chorus is about god and in the last chorus he's talking from god's point of view i mean, i wouldn't know for sure but the thought does change my whole opinion around and i have to admit it makes sense.
