I thought this song was a sort of parody or counterpart to the Blur song with the words "in the country" (I can't remember what it's called). The rythms are quite similar and it's as if Craig is describing the life of someone on the opposite end of the scale from the rich guy in the Blur song.

I completely agree its very very strongly influenced by Beatles Ob-la-di Ob-la-da, just go listen to Factory by the vines then Ob-la-di by the Beatles. Im not kiddin,its eerie.

OK, this song is referring to when Craig Nicholls, the lead singer, was working at McDonald's. The lyrics explain it all. I know it's already been mentioned, but it is so ironic how the music is like really happy and upbeat sounding but the lyrics are totally opposite.
