| The correct lyrics for the hard-to-understand verse are: "You recognize the effect and the fact that it's comin' when she rocks the boat. But it's the cause hittin' on the cardinal laws about the proper place to hang her coat. So to you the truth is still hidden and the soul plays the role of a lost little kitten but you should know that the doctors weren't kiddin' she's been singin' in all along." I think it's insane that so many people seem to forget this song because I honestly believe it's one of the best songs in the White Stripes repertoire. The lyrics flow so unbelievably well--probably the most free-flowing song they have--and it's lyrics are so well-written and meaningful. Who can't relate to this song? Anyone who hasn't had any relationships, I guess. | |

| i think the first stanza says alot. she wont give him what he needs. and that hurts the guy. though she doesnt mean to do purposely. i think the lyrics are told in two different perspectives. but hey i could be talking crap here. propbably has some super sneaky hidden message like blue orchid. | |

| The entire first verse is gold. And the entire song has a nice sound to it, and the entire album is just great. | |

| So now you're left denying the truth And its hidden in the wisdom in the back of your tooth How i love these lines. The truth is just somewhere around ourselves hidden because we just choose to hide it and it doesn't make a noise. Funny but true. | |
