no one thinks that this song is about the story "Snow Queen" by Hans Christian Anderson? Sometimes the story is even called "Ice Queen" as well (Very good story, by the way). He even has a story called "The Nightingale". The first time I heard this song, I thought immediatly about HCA. *shrugs* But maybe it's just my sister and I that think so.

i always tot it is about a wicked and dangerous ice queen..yeah the one in the fairytale.. but if u say it is about winter.. that does make sense too.. btw, this is the song that made me interested with the band in the first place. it was the first song of wt that i heard. became my fav in an instance. i suggest xandria, nightwish, lacuna coil, epica or after forever...

the whole cd is revoling around nature, no? "mother earth".... it seems obvious that it's a metaphor about winter.

Another great song by Within Temptation. To me I think it's just like Arm said a fairytale about winter but personifies it giving it a human form. Kind of like a song about a female version of Jack Frost.

it's a poor song and the lyrics are so crude. the lead singer has no great voice and she tries to make up for this by uttering these pathetic high-pitched tones. i don't know what you lot find so amazing in this amateur, overrated band!

it's a great song, first one by WT that I ever heard and the song that got me into the band. I always thought of it as just a little story put into song. Then, after reading the previous posts, i decided to read the story "Snow Queen"...and i have to agree with tranceasleep. And it is a great story too.
