I really dont have any thing to say about what the song means but this is a remake of their song on the EP record they did with TFU. It sounds a little warped and it takes some time to get used to it. but it is a really awsome song, except the clapping (or what ever it is) is kind of wierd.

OH For those of you who are unaware, Jesse Smith was the first original member of ZAO and he was depressed most of the time...but he kept it going until now, well until FOG came out... Peace

it seems to speak of someone who was turned away from reliegon by a bitter taste of religeon. "Backlaced with splinters. Audience of a congregation make your way to the front, close your eyes and grieve, you played your part so well." It makes sense i guess, its a good song. I wish the person who contributed the lyrics had of gotten the lyrics in an order instead of packed together, its easier to understand what they mean if its punctuated.

In my opinion, the song is about a child who lost his/her faith because of the death of a family member. It starts out with "Ashes to Ashes, Dust to Dust" which they say at funrals. "Beautiful child turning into stone with your eyes so dim i shudder bitterness runs through your soul like small children confusion dances in the dusk of your mind Exchange your blessings" The girl has lost her faith, She is bitter and confused. She beleived but a family member died and she cant beleive that in a world so perfect god would let something like this happen. "For deception good night kiss Skin like winter" She was decepted and she becomes cold and empty...Skin like winter. "Cherished one fading away i can see your breath begging to resurrect into depth hiding scars back laced with splinters audience of a congregation make your way to the front close your eyes and grieve you played the part so well " A cherished one died, She makes her way up to the front (Where the coffin is), Closes her eyes in sadness and greives in pain. Its my opinion...But it is for sure they are at a funeral. =)

Ugh. That first part with the clapping. It makes me shudder just thinking about it. That part could definately use some work.

alright, really lets use our heads a little. "skin like winter" this represents the cold, the color white, and lonliness" and for skin to be like winter makes me think that they are talking about a body of a friend. they goon further to day "congregation make your way to the front close your eyes and grieve you played the part so well" so i think its about a child's funeral. he either wasnt excepted by the church or by his family. and the entire ASHES TO ASHES DUST TO DUST where do they say this? at FUNERALS! exchange your blessings, for deceptions good night kiss. im pretty sure zao talks about the parents of the "fallen child" whos funeral is attended. might be wrong though. no proof, just my interpretation.

maybe where it says"you played your part so well" talks about like someone who goes to church just to go and not going for the right reason, maybe like a pastor who really wasn't walking with the Lord or something like on FRIDAY the movie. but i don't know maybe im wrong, sometimes i think some people at my church do that.
